These are the symbolic places of great strategic value, where great battles for Italian independence occurred.
In San Martino della Battaglia we can find the tower that was built in remembrance of the victory of the Piedmontese with the Austrians. Inside the tower, 74 meters high, we can find the museum with findings of that period.
In Solferino, in remembrance of Napoleon III ‘s battle against the Austrians, we can find the ossuary church of St. Peter, the history museum and the monument to the Italian Red Cross that began thanks to these battles.
